PRODUCT INFORMATION
General Description
Malacholla, a captivating fusion of green malachite and blue chrysocolla, occasionally showcases striking exposures of azurite during the polishing process. Its rugged, solid nature exudes a weighty presence, with specimens often boasting banded, botryoidal, or stalactite-like patterns upon closer inspection. Chrysocolla, with its cyan hue, serves as a minor copper ore, contributing to the diverse array of hues within Malacholla. Ranging in hardness from 2.5 to 7.0, this mineral typically emerges in the oxidation zones of copper ore bodies, forming alongside quartz, limonite, azurite, malachite, cuprite, and other secondary copper minerals. In its natural state, Malacholla frequently manifests as robust, rounded masses or vein fillings, with Congo being a primary source of this mineral spectacle, occasionally accompanied by specimens from Namibia.
